Where has the time gone?! We have been so busy since last updating in March. School, Scouts, Day Camp, Resident Camp, birthdays, anniversaries, swimming, hiking, planting trees, picnics, walks, making new friends, and so much more. It has been so wonderful besides being busy, since March.
Today school started for Sean. Early yes. Oh yes. and our summer was shorter because of this. BUT he gets out May 3oth, so I am not going to complain much. I would prefer to be out in May. I grew up being out by Memorial weekend. Daniel and Peter begin in two weeks and are still in school the middle of June! But they will be out of my hair for a few weeks, so I will have some time to finish Day Camp and Resident Camp things.
Our summer has been Day Camp and Resident Camp as I am the Camp Director of both. They take a ton of work, BUT it is so worth it to see the smiles on the faces of those Cub Scouts every single day! At Day Camp we had 81 Cubs & siblings. At Resident Camp we had 14 Cubs and their parents. This was the first year in 11 years our Council has had a Cub Scout Resident Camp and it was SO Much fun! Small, yes, but we need to start somewhere. Fingers crossed for more to register for next summer.
While at Resident Camp, Peter turned 9. My baby is 9 years old! He was not forgotten by anyone there and enjoyed a fun birthday at camp. We had rootbeer floats and did some swimming in the pool on our break from getting camp ready for the campers. A few of the Staff brought him gifts, which he totally treasures. I love my Peter so much! He earned his photography Belt loop and pin too! School cannot come fast enough for him! He walks around doing math problems in his head and the harder the happier he is.
Sean turned 12 in April was ordained to a Deacon in our church. It was a big day and so much fun! Still a tiny little guy, with a HUGE personality! He enjoys passing the Sacrament and is doing a great job too! I cannot believe he is in 7th Grade. I know it might seem like nothing to so many, but to us it is wonderful. He has out lived the life expectancy of most of his Doctors. This is not to down play the fact he could still leave us at any time. We just don't know, but since he is still stable, we are enjoying what we have right now.
Daniel turns 11 in 35 days. He is excited as he thinks it takes forever for his birthday to come. He bridged from Cubs to Boy Scouts and is loving every single minute of Boy Scouts. He has been busy getting things taken care for advancement, so we will see what rank he is at our next Court of Honor next month. Daniel is looking forward to returning to school and getting back into a routine...not sure of homework, but of friends.
We have a busy Fall and Winter ahead of us. Science Fair projects are already being thought about, Christmas gifts being made and plans for next summer are already cooking.
I will try to update more frequently.
Thanks for stopping in~
